There will come a time in every first responder’s career when they will need to perform life saving medical intervention in the line of duty. Deaths resulting from traumatic injury can be prevented by proper treatment at the scene by a first responder. This course will provide you with the knowledge and tools needed to save your life or the life of someone else. Lifesaving methods are demonstrated using a Self-Aid Buddy Aid (SABA) kit and the methods taught will enable officers to use improvised materials if a SABA kit is not available so that they can survive in medical emergencies until medical help is available.
This course is offered under the Regional Extension – LAW Enforcement course suite and meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements SABA (Self Aid, Buddy Aid) Course #38763.
Participants will not receive a SABA kit as part of their participation in the course.

This interactive course covers the basics of the documentation and reporting process, including collecting and structuring information, analyzing information for reliability, validity, and relevance, and drafting, editing, and presenting a final report. While primarily designed for security professionals, many concepts addressed in this course apply to anyone interested in improving their report writing and documentation skills. The practices taught in this course may be superseded by your agency departmental policy.This course meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements Report Writing Course #2049.
This course provides law enforcement personnel with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to safely and effectively carry, deploy, and maintain the Axon TASER 10. Instruction will cover device operation, safety protocols, deployment procedures, target placement, tactical considerations, agency policy, post-deployment responsibilities, and practical exercises.
Registered students will receive an email containing additional course information, required release forms, and a link to complete the mandatory pre-course requirements.
Students whose agencies issue the TASER 10 should bring their agency-issued device to class. No live TASER cartridges are permitted in the classroom.

This is the primary course of the program focused on addressing the 5 Tenets. These tenets were developed to address the key contributing factors to preventable line of duty deaths amongst law enforcement officers. This is a 4-hour block of instruction to be taught by a Below 100 certified trainer.
Sexual assault cases are some of the most challenging types of investigations that criminal investigators face. Delays in reporting, uneasy victims, lack of evidence, and credible suspects often reduce the likelihood of successful prosecution. Participants in this course, whether new investigators or seasoned veterans, will learn innovative, courtroom-proven investigative techniques. Attendees will examine types and sources of evidence, rapport building with victims, suspect interview techniques, supportive services, beneficial pretrial motions, case law, and issues surrounding false reports. Case studies illustrate key points.
The course instructors are veteran sexual assault investigators who offer proven methods and are passionate about conducting aggressive investigations that lead to positive outcomes. Participants will leave with increased understanding, tools to conduct more in-depth investigations, resources to better manage victims, and tactics to obtain information from suspects.
This training is recommended for officers new to law enforcement, veteran investigators, and police supervisors.
