TCOLE 7887 is a 4‑hour, Texas‑mandated course for peace officers to learn how to safely and effectively communicate with drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Purpose and Legal Requirement

Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requires all peace officers licensed on or after March 1, 2016 to complete this training within two years of licensing, unless it was completed in the Basic Police Officer.
